Prof. Halima El Biaze is a Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) since 2003, and a Senior Member of IEEE. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from Telecom Sud-Paris (2002). Her research focuses on 5G/6G network performance, cloud and edge computing, IoT, network virtualisation, software-defined networking (SDN), and quality of service in optical and wireless networks.

Her most-cited works address content delivery network replica placement, IoT routing protocols, and VNF placement in 5G networks. Prof. El Biaze has a Google Scholar h-index of 25 with over 2,600 citations. She has received research grants from CHIST-ERA and FRQNT, and served as General Chair of the UNet 2022 International Symposium on Networks and Communications in Montreal, reflecting her leadership role in the networking research community.
