Prof. Mohamed Essaaidi is Director General of the Moroccan School of Engineering Science (EMSI) Group (since 2023) and a Professor and former Dean of ENSIAS, Mohammed V University in Rabat. A Senior IEEE Fellow, he founded and chaired the IEEE Morocco Section (2005–2016) and served as IEEE Global Cities Alliance Middle East & Africa Chairman (2020–2022). He has acted as an international expert on Digital Transformation and Smart Cities for organisations including the UN, ITU, UNESCO, and the European Union. His research covers electrical and computer engineering, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, smart cities, and digital transformation.

Prof. Essaaidi holds 10 patents and has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications and 10 books, with a Google Scholar h-index of 29 and over 3,900 citations. He was awarded the 2023 IEEE MGA Larry K. Wilson Transnational Award in recognition of his exceptional contributions to IEEE's global mission. He is a sought-after keynote speaker and adviser to governments and institutions across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe on digital innovation strategy.
