She holds a PhD in Computer Science with a specialisation in multimodal deep learning, bridging theoretical AI and real-world applications. As a Google Developer Expert (GDE) in AI and a certified NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute (DLI) Instructor, she is deeply invested in advancing the field through both research and education, currently coordinating and mentoring over 120 engineering students.

Her active research focuses on AI Safety, specifically developing culturally responsive auditing methodologies for agentic AI systems, alongside innovative work in cybersecurity and the gamification of engineering education. Beyond academia, she is a passionate community leader and diversity advocate, serving as a Women Techmakers (WTM) Ambassador, a mentor for the Google for Startups Accelerator, and co-founder of AI Wonder Girls.

Talk title: The Imperative of AI Safety in Smart Ecosystems.

As intelligent models transition from isolated applications to connected, autonomous systems, the margin for error shrinks significantly. This keynote provides a foundational overview of the AI Safety landscape, demystifying core concepts for researchers and practitioners alike. We will explore the critical differences between AI capabilities and AI alignment, map out the taxonomy of systemic risks — from reward hacking to adversarial vulnerabilities — and examine why building trust in data-driven architectures requires treating safety as a fundamental design principle rather than an afterthought.
